OUR SCHOOL
Churchill Primary School Community is committed to working in partnership
to provide a comprehensive curriculum which enables all children to reach their
full potential.
As a caring school community we strive to achieve many things at the school,
system and personal levels. We endeavour to make our school an exciting, fulfilling
and harmonious educational setting for all staff, students and parents. We have
staff who are all committed to continuous improvement for students, maintaining
health and well-being, and seeking personal and professional growth for themselves.
Our school is about people and we believe every student has the ability to
learn. This occurs best in a happy, flexible and positive environment which
has been created by the partnership between students, parents and staff.
The school has a current enrolment of 312.
The school consists of 11 classrooms and an effective Learning Centre which
focuses on Learning Technologies, Information Technology, the Arts and Library.
We have a strong commitment to Student Learning and Student Welfare and Management,
Staff Health and Well Being and to the principles of Managing Diversity.
Our predominantly brick buildings are situated in extensive school grounds
which feature basketball courts, an oval, cricket nets, passive play areas,
extensive and varied shaded playground equipment. Extensive improvements to
the playground and gardens have also boosted the physical appearance and pride
in the school.
At the school level we aim to harness the talents of teaching staff and have a team of dedicated teachers who have a love of learning themselves and a real concern for student learning. Programs are structured to not only enhance student success and achievement, but to inspire, motivate and enthuse students to also have a love of learning. Teachers who are confident and competent in using a variety of teaching and learning strategies and who take the needs of all children into account are of a paramount importance to our programs.
In a nutshell, our school's guiding principles are to:
